  • IXP Visas, previously known as Global Visas, has been liquidated, leaving thousands of customers in the lurch.

At the time of writing, IXP Visas has not released a statement, nor have they informed their clients that they have closed their doors.

Last Friday, around 50 staff members at the IXP Visas offices near the Oval in South London were laid off without warning. The liquidation is being handled by insolvency practitioners Herron Fisher.

John Dunn, Immigration Manager at 1st Contact Visas, stresses the importance of research in identifying a suitable visa service and immigration provider.

“When searching for assistance with immigration, it is vital that people use a reputable company,” says Dunn. “It’s very easy to get caught by a professional looking website, but when there’s a lot of money and a visa at stake, it’s worth the extra effort to do proper research.”

“Make sure the company has been around for many years, is OISC-regulated and has a good reputation – be careful of negative press surrounding any company,” continues Dunn.

If you have been affected by the closure of IXP Visas and would like assistance with your visa or immigration matters, please visit 1st Contact Visas or call +44 (0) 808 141 1664. 1st Contact offers a 'no-visa, no-fee' guarantee and is registered with the OISC, the immigration industry’s professional membership body.
