Tax refunds: Do it the smart and easy way

by 1st Contact | May 24, 2016
  • There are two ways to claim a UK tax refund: Through a tax refund agency or on your own. The DIY route might seem easy enough, but it often winds up causing frustration and netting you fewer Pounds. Going through an agency will save you time and earn you a larger refund.
  • Below is the story of Sophie and Ella, two young women who tried to get tax refunds after working in the UK.

A tax refund is a repayment of income tax that you have overpaid on your salary during the tax year, as decided by HMRC. Anyone living and working in the UK could be eligible for a tax refund.

Please note: Even after leaving the UK you can still make a tax claim. If you need your tax refund transferred internationally 1st Contact Forex will secure you a better rate and charge you lower fees than any traditional bank.
