Discovering Melbourne with our March Instagram takeover

We continued our Instagram takeovers last month, as we joined 1st Contact Australia’s Client Manager, Rachel Finch, in Melbourne for the weekend. Read on to see what she got up to.

Originally from the UK, Rachel moved to Melbourne a year ago, after travelling through South America and New Zealand for eight months.

On why she chose to settle Down Under, Rachel says: “We were tossing up between Sydney and Melbourne, and Melbourne came out on top. We wanted to spend some time working overseas and Australia seemed the perfect choice with the visa options available to us. As my partner has a New Zealand passport; 1st Contact was able to help me apply for a de facto partner visa.”

Rachel’s weekend takeover included sunsets, pups, hot air balloons and time away at the Grampians National Park. Of course, no introduction to Australia would be complete without a kangaroo or two.

While it might seem like a busy weekend, it’s what Rachel loves about the city, saying that it’s impossible to get bored in Melbourne. “There’s something going on all the time – whether it’s live music, sport, festivals or markets. There is so much fun to be had here, it’s truly a great city”, she comments.

Keep an eye on our Instagram account this weekend, from 1 to 3 April, as we see the UK through Candice Light’s eyes.
