£12.5 Billion in Tax Credits Go Unclaimed

According to a recent study done by www.unbiased.co.uk, Britons have failed to claim an estimated £12.5 billion in tax credits, including £7.3 billion in income-related tax credits.

The tax wastage is a direct result of the failure to make use of – amongst others – child tax credits, working tax credits, pension credits and tax relief on charity donations.

Now is the time to check and renew your tax credit entitlements and make sure that you have been paid the right money.

It is also vitally important that you fill out any forms accurately and that your information is up-to-date at the tax office. Any errors ultimately jeopardise the amount you will receive in tax credits.

If you have missed this week’s deadline, you will be given a 30-day grace period to get your tax credits reinstated and to make sure that you claim what is rightfully due to you.
