Vote for the Mayor of London

If you live in London, you can vote for the Mayor. The Mayor of London Elections are on 3 May 2012. Please make sure that you are registered to vote before 18 April 2012.

To be able to vote in the London elections you must:

  • live in London
  • be a British, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth or EU citizen
  • be 18 years old or over on 3 May 2012. 16- and 17-year-olds can register with their local borough and they will be added to the electoral register as soon as they become 18.

Please take note: even though you may be registered for council services (like paying council tax), you will not automatically be included on the electoral register. The voting register is completely separate.

How to register to vote

  3. Send it back to your local borough’s election office (the contact details are provided).
