One of the best ways to get to know a city is through the eyes of a local. To give you an idea of what it’s like to live in the UK and Australia, we’re inviting local bloggers to share a few of their weekend experiences with you via our Instagram account.
Courtneigh moved to the UK from South Africa six months ago and lives in Fulham. She works for a US-based bank that helps tech and innovation companies with financing and other money services.
Having started her blog at the beginning of this year, she shares invaluable advice for those who are new to life in London and those looking to move to the city – including what she wishes she knew before moving to the city, practical knowledge for living in London and tips on surviving the infamous London winters.
Commenting on her experience with 1st Contact, Courtneigh says:
“If you need advice on what documentation you need and which channels you need to take, then look no further than 1st Contact. They guide you through the entire visa application process and submit the request for you, which, believe it or not, is the hardest part.”
Now that she’s more settled in the UK, Courtneigh uses our forex service to transfer money between South Africa and her new home in London.
Courtneigh describes her life in London as “fast-paced, challenging and absolutely brilliant!” We shared in her adventures over the weekend of 29 to 31 January, which included a stop at Hamleys, afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason and a trip to Buckingham Palace. You can view all her images from the weekend here.
