    3. Focus on one thing at a time

    Research has shown that multitasking is less productive than doing one thing at a time. Results showed that people who are regularly exposed to several streams of information at once remember less than those who complete one task at a time.

    4. Analyse and automate recurring tasks

    Apps like RescueTime can help you understand your daily habits so you can focus and be more productive. If you track your workflow, you will be able to see patterns forming and what is taking up most of your time. This will help you to identify which tasks can be automated to save you time.

    Streamlining small tasks adds up. Even something as simple as creating a template for documents that you use often can save you hours in the long term.

    5. Clean your work area

    This is especially true if you work from home. Keeping your desk space clear will not only help you find things more easily, but will also help eliminate unnecessary distractions. Make sure there’s nothing in sight that will draw your attention away from your work.
